How many accessible porta potties does an event need?
An event needs at least 5% of the portable toilets in each cluster to be accessible, with a minimum of 1 per cluster, under 2010 ADA Standards section 213.2. Ten units in one row need 1 accessible unit. Two separate groups of 6 units need 1 accessible unit in each group, so 2 total.

What does an accessible unit need around it?
An accessible porta potty needs a firm, level pad of about 8 by 8 feet and a smooth path from the main event area, without curbs, steps or soft grass. Place it at the end of the row closest to seating. The unit must show the International Symbol of Accessibility.

A private backyard party is not held to the same rule as a public event, but if any guest uses a wheelchair, walker or cane, 1 ADA unit lets them use the restroom without help. Older guests often prefer the grab bars and roomier floor too.
